While heading to lunch, we noticed police officers stationed at every traffic light. So, of course, we wondered who they were looking for (I tend to always assume the worst). Stopped at the car wash then we noticed the police cars passing by with all of their lights on, cars and motorcycles. Then we saw Santa Clause with his hundreds of Harley Davidson’s following along.
Everything is BIG in Texas. It was great to see all of the bikes, the riders, the police all doing such a wonderful service for the children.
I was like a little kid just waving. it was just hubby, me and BellaPoo, then another onlooker with her daughter came by to watch the excitement. It was an awesome Victory to see such AWESOMENESS.
With all of the major BS in the media and on the lips of many, it is nice to see such goodness.
Now, I need to go and get me a motorcycle and some cool leather gear. 😉
Brief Bio of MotorCops:
In 2002, the Garland Police Department and the Harley Owners Group – Dallas Chapter, teamed up to create the MotorCops for Kids Motorcycle Toy Run. Since its inception seven years ago and through the hard work of many dedicated volunteers, MotorCops for Kids has raised over $255,500 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston and Houston. Over 10,870 toys have been collected, which are distributed to area charities and handed out to needy children at Christmas time. MotorCops for Kids’ volunteers also participate in an annual food drive every December and hand deliver toys to several families on Christmas Eve each year. Since it began, MotorCops for Kids has had over 16,950 motorcycles attend the toy run.
